Also, I'm going to do an FTP (Functional Threshold Power) test on a stationary bike as soon as gyms reopen. It's basically a 60-min effort on the bike which gives you the power (in watts) you can maintain over that timeframe. As a reference, world-class pros can typically maintain ~400W over an hour.
I did an outdoor version of the test yesterday and using bikecalculator.com, I came up with 230W, which would seem to make sense given my weight (high for a cyclist) and fitness level (average at best). The wind and road condition and wonky GPS data all contribute to mucking up the data, but I think the real number is probably not too far off.
Also curious to know my 1-min and 5-min max. I'm more of a sprinter than an endurance guy anyway.
