Yeah drop bars are for racing. I'm probably getting myself a Topstone to race Paris to Ancaster next year, 67 miles of gravel and mud/dirt.

MY "threshold power" is up to 330W as of this morning. If I was Joey Rain's weight (~168lbs) I'd be a competitive racer. As it stands (195lbs), I get destroyed as soon as the road starts pointing up.

Help me lose more weight, Gamelive. If I ever get to 5 watts per kilo (I'm at 3.7 right now) I'll have a custom Gamelive cycling jersey made.

Matty, it’s not super fun but it’s gets better after a few days……

Only eat from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Eat as much as you want during this time but avoid sugar and unhealthy carbs. You will lose lots of weight.

If you can’t do 11:00 AM to 5:00, do 5:00 - 10:00 PM

My old shop was by a high end bike shop and the velodrome. The people that frequented the bike shop never came to the bakery. They were competitive athletes that basically devoted their lives to riding,no family,no career etc.

Yeah. Getting really good at this shit is a 24/7 thing, and the people who do it are usually have their lifestyle paid for by generational wealth. Although I follow a few track cyclists who visibly don't come from money and have to constantly promote brands on social media to earn a living. It looks like a really tough way to try and make a living.

Yeah. I did that in 2021 when I lost 45-50 pounds. My problem is that I'm now addicted to seeing my power go up, and the training I do to achieve that makes me crave carbs in a bad way.

Because he doesn't stuff his face with carbs like an asshole. He doesn't train nearly as much as I do either in terms of hours per week, so he doesn't crave sugar as much. Low carb diet.

We're going to reduce carbs and get back to tracking calories.
