Got my first ticket for ignoring stop signs in High Park. (Which thousands of us do every single weekday morning.)

ticketed by police cycling infraction

I look good from the back šŸ™ƒ

Fok off Bone Bone. The average car is doing twice the posted speed limit in the park, yet all they enforce is the big bad cyclists treating stop signs as yield signals because that's the complaints they get from the population. I.e. we cyclists aren't petty enough to officially complain about asshole drivers.

Utter bullshit.

Never seen a cyclist take actual responsibility for contributing to a dangerous situation. It's always "but mmmmoooommm the big bad cars are speeeeeding." Irrelevant. Shoplifters shouldnt be stopped because larcinists walk the streets? Two wrongs don't make a right, etc. etc. Ticket them all.

Is the fine the same as motorists? Do cyclist tickets count on car insurance? If your on a bike and get a ticket, why not say you have no id on ya and make up a name and address
I actually didn't have ID. Tried to give him just my name but he threatened to arrest me if I didn't give him my address. With that info he was able to look up my DL. It is an actual traffic infraction that will show up on my driving record and fuck my insurance rate if I can't get out of it.

I treat stop signs as yield signs like 98% of all cyclists. I'm not saying we're not all dickheads.

A guy in Toronto called The Biking Lawyer reached out and is going to help me fight the ticket. #weeeeeee

Yeah Matty what's the game here? How much is it? Who's taking the sexy back picture? How is your shoulder? Did you shaved your legs this morning?
$110. A fellow spandex outlaw took the pic and posted it on Twitter, he told me about it right after I was done ranting at the cop.
Shoulder is 75% better but still stiff. Haven't shaved since the race in May, will do so again before my next race (date TBD)

Thanks for asking Rogatien :hattip:

All tickets on a license count against insurance, regardless of the vehicle.

Making up a name and address would 99.99999% end up in a charge of obstructing justice.
