Matty, to buy a home maybe holding onto the cycle for awhile down the road might be the way to go? Just customize it a little and please make sure everyone at least gets a helmet!

FWIW, I don't consider MC and FW to be true baby boomers. If you want to claim it, great, but I have seen many differing definitions of what constitutes the boomer era with some having it ending as early as the mid 1950s

The point is academic in my case. My views are based strictly on principle and not where I personally land within classifications.

To me, as far as what are the most important ways to measure a world, it is really not arguable. The Baby Boomers had more racism, homophobia, gender inequity. Physical health care was worse and ignorance regarding mental health was far greater. So many horrible things in all these categories that happened as a matter of routine in the world of BBers are now radically reduced - and getting even better by the day.

The one dimension that comes immediately to mind where the BBers World was better was that they did not have to deal with the aftermath of the BB World of consumption without concern. The next generation has a mess to clean up that the BBers did not. But to call that a point in favor of the BB World is dubious.

There are other ways to look at a world. War. That's a big complex discussion. I say the post-BB world is safer but I am not as insistent in that debate. Plus things can change by the day.

There are economic measures. But that's all cyclical and down my list of what's important anyway.

I heard that the actual mean income was at the high point and went down since. Thats a pretty objective thing.

Sure feel lucky I didn't have to live through a war so far though. America mainland never been invaded anyway

Also, people were at least struggling for rights, equality etc.. Sure seems like there isnt much spirit about anything significant these days. Guess we still have gay rights and breast cancers ribbons :dunno:

It sounds kinda like something but ultimately I disagree. Specifically, as a baby boomer, I don't feel that "my world" has been better than the next generation's.

I mean, I can certainly focus nostalgically on certain aspects of my time but overall, not a chance. The world has continued to get steadily better IMO.
Hey muddy, time to get your head out of your arse pal.

Here, you might learn something here pal...Enjoy
