I used one last weekend to shoot pics at the wife's boss's party. It's an excellent camera. Plus it's so small that you'll want to carry it everywhere with you.

I sold my D700 cause it was so big I didn't care to bring it anywhere. My current D600 is much better, although still way bigger than the D3100.

I would suggest bookmarking his site. Some of his observations are to be taken with a grain of salt but he's really good at providing simple, clear advice in layman's terms.

Ya I'm thinking those Canon's are big and bulky and would be a PITA to carry around. I might go with that Nikon, but I really know fuk all about these things.

Just get it. You'll be back at the store in no time to get the longer lens, but whatever.

If you can find a bundle that includes the 18-55mm lens AND the 55-200mm (or 55-300mm), you'll save yourself a second trip to the store.

You really want that longer lens to take pics at the arena.
