Is Johnny Walker Black a good bourbon?

It's an ok tasting whiskey.

It's overrated IMO.

Plenty of things at the same price point that taste much better.

Mr.M, I'm not sure how much a bottle of JWB costs. I'd imagine though that you could get a 750ml of 14 Balvenie (scotch) for the same price as JWGreen label.

i haven't priced any blended scotches such as johnnie walker black in a while, guessing a fifth is $30-$35.

a friend gave me a fifth of their blue label about six years ago and i've yet to crack it open. i had no idea how expensive it was until i happened to see a bottle of it at our local liquor store, so imagine my surprise when the 750 ml size was priced at $190!

Crazy isn't it BB! Son awhile back kiddingly said if I could buy him a fifth of that and I thought no problem! Saw the price and of course came home without it!

When do you think you'll open it? IMO be completely sober when you open it to really appreciate it! I would do something stupid like being already loaded and opening it!

Something in the same range would be glenlivet or glenfiddich.
