Agree 100% with Matty's ranking here.

It was on sale for $19.99 for 750 ml

Was going to try the JD Single Barrel but it was $40 for the same amount

:fok::fok::fok:

Twice the price here. "Socially responsible pricing" can suck my cock.

I got my Maker's Mark Ambassador materials in the mail the other day, including a stack of business cards with my name on them (???) and the # of the barrel that will bear my name (Matty Rain). Very embarrassing stuff to show to anyone.

. I think bourbon is from Kentucky though.

Yes, sir!

Bourbon can be made anywhere in the US. Has to be made of a grain mixture of at least 51% corn and nothing else can be added to the mix but water and yeast. Some bourbons like Maker's Mark are called "wheated" because they add a higher percentage of wheat than most, which gives the bourbon a sweeter taste.

Jack Daniels is from Kentucky too Pavy.

Edit: I'm stoopid. Jack Daniels is from Tennesse you fucking idiot Jello.

There is a very common misconception that Jack Daniels is NOT bourbon. Jack Daniels is actually a bourbon if you go by the law, but the company chooses to promote the "Tennessee Whiskey" label instead to differentiate its product. Their process is only slightly different in that they filter the shit through maple charcoal, which gives the whole JD family a very distinctive banana-like aroma. But they could put "straight Kentucky bourbon whiskey" on their bottles and it would be 100% valid.

I like Jack Daniels. Good whiskey. I think bourbon is from Kentucky though.
correct, it's like to be called champagne the sparkling wine is supposed to come from that region in france.

while jack daniels is mistakenly called bourbon, and that is really just a technicality, it's officially known as "tennessee whiskey" and is distilled in lynchburg, tennessee which is ironically a dry county.
