Just got back from the doctor.

Results of my ultrasound show I have an enlarged prostate.

Going for PSA test this week.

I get my blood work checked twice a year. I hope everything comes back in the clear for you, but just because yoru prostate is enlarged it doesn't at all mean you have prostate cancer or anything sinister happening inside of you.

It's awesome that you are being proactive. Hoping for the best over here.

After seeing more than a few of my (horse racing trainer) buddies drop dead in the last few years from cancer at age 43, 52, and 53 I am not fucking around with taking chances. I go see the doctor if I have any pain or something feels wrong.

The PSA is a blood test and there are at least two labs within 3 blocks of me that do the bloodwork so I'll probably go tomorrow, you don't need an appointment.

My dad died a few months after his 50th birthday after suffering a long, slow and painful death from colon cancer.

By the time my father had been feeling symptoms, it was too late. The cancer had apparently been stewing in him for years. A simple colonoscopy a few years prior would have saved him and my family.

I have lots of thoughts about this. Like why doesn't colon cancer have the same sort of awareness as breast cancer. My father was a member of CUPE, why doesn't CUPE force their members to go through a health checkup, etc...

Did "Tony" find a bug in vBulletin? He hid a link in his post; isn't it the case that you can't post links on here until you've reached X posts? He edited his post 12 minutes after posting it, perhaps because it would then allow him to post a link? Well played, Tony.

:hattip:

Not a bug, it's set after 10 posts. Those Bangladeshi usually give up way before that, but Tony is a little determined tiger.
