Printer ink though.

I was getting ink is low messages literally for years. Finally the prints really did start to get crappy - so I bought new cartridges. Installed 'em.

I started getting ink is low messages the very first thing I printed - and then every single thing since then. Brand new inks.


It's all a fucking racket.


Everything is stupid.
 
This months consumer reports has a decent article about printers/ink. Inkjets are tough, they can actually use more ink when you DONT use them frequently (like daily). They have a thing called a spittoon in them and they throw away ink for a legitimate reason.

They're not stupid. You just need to get the right printer that fits your needs. I'd suggest a black and white laser printer.
 
And then this stupid shit has to happen:


My Jenny lives in a very senior-oriented building. While younger than most of the residents, she has her frequent surgeries and recuperative phases - so lots of ramps and the nearby park and the beautiful view are all good. Yada yada.

So here's the problem: Jenny has gone through life at the very pinnacle of how beautiful a female can be. Even now in her mid-50's, she is very attractive - particularly compared to other women her age - and certainly compared to a bunch of 70 and 80 (and 90 and hundred) year-olds.

So she is this unusually beautiful petite little blonde woman, living alone. Long story short, some guy that lives there started coming on to her. This guy is in his 70's - and has a 70's wife - but whatever, he methodically insinuated himself into her life - and she is very friendly so it's not difficult. Anyway, he made his move. Started touching himself and then tried to move in on her.

She fended him off and made it clear the answer is NO. But of course now she has this incredibly awkward situation where she lives. I mean like jesus fuck.

I hate men. Men are such assholes.

Anyway now what? I gotta go over there and kick some 70 year-old guy's ass?

I bought a $50 Epson "small-in-one" printer for my fledgling moto gear biz. Managed to get ~150 prints out of the bundled-in black ink cartridge. It has separate cyan, magenta and yellow cartridges - I'm still running the original color cartridges. Replacement black ink was 20 bucks and should last 500 pages at least. It also has a SD card slot that, when a SD card is in, instantly becomes a shared drive on my home network. I can scan something and instantly access it from any device in the house.

$50 printer. Couldn't be more impressed.

She's attractive as a 50 something compared to 70 year old broads, I'm sure she'd be thrilled to know that.

Anyway, she is not attractive. Not without lots of help from makeup. No 50+ yr old broad is attractive, not without lots of help.

Not much more to the story. I told Jenny I would like to speak to the guy and I was ready to head up to the apartment of him and his wife - or, if she preferred, just call him on the phone. I have some views on a few things I would like to share with him. But Jenny didn't want me to do that just then. She had her reasons - it's complicated.

I told her I would respect her decision but would be ready to go if she changes her mind.
