it has gotten cheap enough for consumer apps to use facial recognition against public profile pictures

all profile pictures are unrestricted in all the major sites and there's nothing the sites can do to ban that practice from individual apps

state/lea has had that power but now it's available to any joe in the street

Facebook et al. is the largest Big Brother operation ever invented. I refuse to even use them much less put personal information on them.

There is no need for a third party to store that sort of information about me.
