Early on I am not seeing the same type of game as the previous games mentioned in this thread. This Boston/Philly game has plenty of action but the goals being scored are not earning any style points just brute force. Plus the defense isn't on the same level as the other games.

This Tampa arena though looks like it has a dark spot over by the benches. Seems dimmer than other arenas I've seen.

Maybe the ice is just dingier. They just showed footage of an earlier game at Washington and the ice looked much whiter and brighter.

So how come the goalie touches the puck to not allow an icing call? I understand this if there is a chance the opposing team can get to the puck first but I see this a lot even when the opponent isnt even coming down ice?

If on an icing call you get a faceoff at the other end why wouldnt you always allow that to take place when not being threatened?

they usually do. But I would argue having control of the puck in your own zone is more valuable than a faceoff in the opposing.
