seeing as how last year was the year of the pitcher....

maybe we could through out some ideas. on how to work it.... I'd volunteer to set it up and monitor whatever seemed like a fun way to do it....

like a mock draft of pitchers that you think will throw the first, or any no-hitter this year...

we get however many people want to play and we have a 5 round draft of the pitchers you think are most likely to go no-no this year....

thoughts?

I'm in if it's for money. Maybe everyone in agrees to x amount. Everyone gets to pick 5 teams and 10 pitchers. If you nail the team, you make x amount from all others. If you nail actual pitcher, you get x amount times two.

I dunno...just a rough first draft idea.

Fiver is going to be out since the multiplications table is going to have to be used.

whos got the 2nd pick

ME

okay here is the contest, anyone that posted in this thread will pay the winner 500 dollars. anyone that posted in the month of april, anywhere on gamelive....owes the winner 100 dollars.

Wally owes the winner 2000 and beatthejerk owes the winner 10,000

with my second selection I take Josh Johnson

I'd be willing to take charge of a contest if you guys want. My idea is this...

All contestants select 5 teams and 10 pitchers. If you hit the team, all contestants pay you 50. If you pay the actual pitcher, all players pay you 100.

Honor code for guys that I trust. If you are a newbie or never paid in on a contest before, gotta have that money up front. But I trust pretty much everyone here so....

So the risks are though...if 10 guys play, and 8 pick Roy Halladay and Philly and you do not, you gotta pay out quite a bit of money.

OK this might need tinkering. Thoughts?

But yea I'm down for something. Time to delve deep.

okay had another close call with lincecum getting the first 22 batters out last night....

I would rather have some sort of draft, then have everyone pick basically the same pitchers. I mean who wouldn't pick the phillies as one of their team selections.

we could take the first 10 guys that wanna participate for 100 dollar buy in...

we can do a quick pull names out of a hat video. I'll volunteer to make the vid, pull the names, and I'll talk to a poster live on the cell phone as I pick them, so we know its not doctored...

we draft in an S form so the # 10 pick of first round is #1 pick of second round ect.

we try to get the draft done in a day or two. so only participate if you are really gonna be around everyday and check in a few times.

the first no-hitter by a pitcher picked by a contestant pays 600 and 2nd 300 the 3rd 100.

if there is no no-hitters this year. the money goes back to everyone, or we come up with a new contest

if there is only one no-hitter pitcher picked that pitches one, the contestant gets the remaining 400.

if there are only 2 no-hitters picked the first one gets 675 and the 2nd gets 325.

separate contest..... team no-hitter contest. 100 dollar buy in.

same draft idea as first contest....

you pick 1 team that you think will have a no-hitter thrown for, and then in the 2nd round a team you think a no-hitter will be thrown against...

500 bucks to the winner of each.

I think getting 10 people might be tough. but if we do in fact have more interest, then we can increase the payouts at those %'s

I'm not sure if everyone has paypal, but it seems to be the easiest way to do it. I say we all send the $ within 2 weeks of the picking to bread or some other trustworthy GL entity...

Let's open the discussion and tweak the rules...
