Why would people WANT kids?

I don't care what other people do as long as I don't have to pay for it. However, I do end up paying for them. Whether it's taxes for school, overpopulation and sprawl, environmental concerns, etc. Not to mention the fact that I see parents pushing strollers down the strip at 3AM and want to shoot them in the face. Why do we require licenses to drive, but not to parent? Some people shouldn't be allowed to reproduce.

By 'some people', I assume that you mean, 'most people'. And I agree whole heartedly.

I can think of a lot of things I'd rather do than drag kids around with me all day; having to clean up their messes, discipline them, schedule things around their schedules, etc.

This is what nannies are for. If I could drop the rest of them I could get me a full time nanny for like $300 a month here. :)

I don't get how people have that many. One is plenty. I make like 50x the average colombian wage and I barely make enough to afford one kid here, yet these people get by somehow with 5-6+. Although actually I kid of really do have 5 or 6 children to support now if count the whole family I've inherited (note these people aren't children actually they just act like them)

Yes I vote for license. I've got enough fucking shit to pay for, I hate shipping dollars back to usa to hand out to idiots.
 
The only possible reason I can come up with would be wealth retention, and really that concern has died out since the industrial revolution. Back when people had family titles and property, I'm sure it was important to create heirs to ensure continued control of those things. These days, it seems silly to have children and dedicate your most productive years to the creation of new people on an already overpopulated planet.
 
lets not gloss over the whole driver license thing. So many bad, dangerous drivers.

As far as kids go, well you can't really take away basic humanity.

Besides, most of your money goes to kill kids in Afghanistan as opposed to helping them here. So you kind of break even. :dunno:

Are we all just having a dysfunctional rant here or do we want a serious answer to this question? It is very simple. I myself don't want kids but I understand why normal people do and I can spell it out if you really don't understand.

I agree, though, not really on the radar. And I rarely get jealous of my friends who have kids, it truly looks like an overwhelming burden.
 
Bits and pieces in posting but at my work place too many to count where guys have kids but aren't with that particular woman. MrsM's heart breaks for seeing kids that have only one parent because of selfishness. Pisses her off that people can't control themselves.
