Why did they take away the Expos

Saw this online today.

56 years ago Jarry Park was approved by the Montreal Expos and the National League for interim use as a baseball stadium for their first season (1969).

The Expos would play there until 1976.

Poor Rays just can't build up a solid local fan base like the Marlins. Yes that atrocious ballpark sucks but don't know if even a new one would help? Never been to a Miami game but the place seems being cool. I probably should attend a Phils game one year and get good seats from Gametime hour before start.

Back to the thread topic, I say send the Rays to Montreal and rename them the Expats!
