Let me pose this question.

If ANY other Republican was running against Harris this very moment, would she stand a chance?

I say not.

If Vance was running, he would win by a fairly wide margin.

If my girl Tulsi Gabbard was running, she would DESTROY her. Seriously destroy her.

Regardless of Trump and his very dedicated fan base, I’m pretty sure that anyone else would do as well if not much better against Harris.

She’s truly THAT bad

I'll start by saying I don't think she's that bad. She's not good by any means. But she's overall a pretty generic politician. I could be wrong, but I think she is disproportionately disliked and disrespected because she's a woman. Not saying that's why YOU dislike her, just a general statement.

Having said all that, I do agree that any more reasonable choice could probably beat her more easily. But it's undeniable how popular Trump is in his party, and he gets a lot of voters out that might otherwise not bother, so it's hard to measure.

The radical loony toon side of the left would have their machine cranking HARD against ANY Republican, though. Look what they did with DeSantis and the “Don’t Say Gay” nonsense etc. Ron DeSantis has done a great job running the State of Florida but the Loony Toon Left (LTL) was going at him SO hard when they saw him as a threat to be the next President.

But then the Trump Cult machine took him out with lies and name calling.

Don’t underestimate the disease which is radical LTL.

I hear your viewpoint. I’m only speaking for myself when I say her gender or race truly doesn’t even factor in my thought. I just thought to myself if she was a white male and presented himself the way she does, would I think he was awful? My personal answer is yes.

It was easy for me to imagine that.

His name is Waltz.

Fun fact: I have voted in 7 elections. Voted Democrat in 3. To be honest, if the Democrats put out a moderate candidate that had actual substance behind their talking points, I’d vote for them in a heartbeat

Oh no question.
The thing is that machine can only dress up a pig so much. What’s left for the machine to do now for her? She’s peaked.

Yeah, I've voted in 5 with 2x Republican, 1x Libertarian, 2x Democrat. Would also happily vote for a reasonable R candidate. Not that my vote matters in Cali anyway, haha.

Do you find it discouraging that our votes “don’t matter”?

When I lived in NY, I voted because it was my personal feeling it was the right thing to do.

This year, being in GA, I feel my vote actually matters. It’s kind of cool voting and feeling it matters slightly

my perception is that trump drew a segment of the population that was never political never really voted before and is really devoted to him and if he was not involved anymore they would not be voting at all.

Of course. I understand the logic behind it, but it sucks that everyone's voice isn't heard. Same goes for red voters in blue states and blue voters in red states. Virtually all countries have popular vote. Might improve voter turnout nationwide too, to feel like your vote mattered.

I also feel it's the right thing to do, but more importantly, there are other things to vote for. Local government also irrelevant in LA (all dems win auto), but props matter for sure, always research and vote those.

Even in my state of Michigan, the race is decided by a few counties.

IDK how many people hate her because she’s a female candidate, I don’t think as many as you think. The D’s problem is selling her as a female/black/whatever instead of as a candidate. Everything has to have a label and they expect to blindly support that label. Obama is one of the biggest idiots with this. He’s gone after black men in the last week for not blindly supporting her. They don’t care about the reasons she isn’t that popular with them, just do it.

I don't think it's a conscious "I don't like her because she's a woman." I think subconsciously, sexism and racism run very deep in this country.

To be clear, that is NOT saying anyone who doesn't like her is sexist/racist. It is just a fact of life that we treat and perceive people differently based on factors like sex, race, attractiveness, etc.

Hillary had the same problem. And again, tons of reasons not to like her besides her being a woman, the Clintons have their long list of issues. All politicians tend to suck, as a general rule.

But Kamala being a woman undoubtedly contributes to peoples perceptions of her intelligence, capabilities, etc. How many people claim she slept her way to the top, etc. Would we see those accusations if she were a man with the same resume?
