I guess I didn't realize that debate was centered on foreign policy/terrorism. I know it's important, but I find those infinitely more boring than debates that include domestic issues like the economy.

Can't believe people are railing on Christie for his reference to men going off to work and mom's with children at the bus stop. http://www.aol.com/article/2015/12/...eat-for-sexist-slip-up-during-gop-d/21284585/

People are ridiculous.

I'm working 60 hours weeks. I think I know more about the state of the economy since I work in construction business and know how many billions per year are spent on construction projects lately. Not sure where you are getting your data but our office has doubled in employees in 12 months.

Bully for you. There is a whole lot of country outside of Atlanta. I got my stats from the US Labor Dept data, for starters. I do not make stuff up just to be argumentative. Here is a quote from US News & World Report

The unemployment rate stayed the same at 5.1 percent, though that's at least in part because September ended with 579,000 more people outside of the labor force than in August. The number of unemployed people in the market counted by the Labor Department actually declined by 114,000 between August and September, but that only counts individuals who have actively looked for work in the last four weeks.

The labor force participation rate, already hovering near historic lows, plunged even further to 62.4 percent after spending the last two months at 62.6 percent. That's the lowest the participation rate has been since October 1977.

These people know next to nothing about foreign policy. Cristy wants to befriend Jordan's dead king Hussein.
It's pretty bad since the presidents #1 job is shaking hands with various kings/leaders.
I don't know what if any effect the president has on the economy. Although his various "constituents" surely do.

then perhaps in your infinite wisdom, you can explain why we have the lowest employment participation rate in over 30 years happening now? Perhaps people did not realize the "truth" in your statement?

You should ask yourself why your party is choosing to throw around "employment participation rate" instead of the unemployment rate. Baby-boomers are retiring, young people are choosing more education. Employment participation is mostly a demographic phenomenon, not an economic indicator.

They're not talking about unemployment rate because it is low. People looking for work are getting work.

I have no opinion on whether or not Rs or Ds in really have much of an effect on this, but you should realize why this number is being used by the right. It's not what is typically looked at as a jobs number.

We do business in ALL 50 states. Just because the office is in Atlanta it doesn't mean that we can't design buildings in Chicago or New York. I'm giving real experience data about the state of the economy. There is more concrete and rebar being used in this country right now than any other time in history.

The majority of jobs available are lower-skill service jobs. It's easy to open a wal-mart and "create" 200 jobs. The US has quit making things long ago.

at least part of the establishment and their well trained, propagandized idiots are in full attack mode against Trump.
This is interesting because probably half the country (including me) likes him primarily for pissing off these people.
interesting dynamic here,
they think they can bury Trump by exposing some controversy (which is what they to do to other fringe candidates), I'm not sure thats gonna work with him:ooh:
