The USAID shit is wild... but honestly we need Iraq to work out in our favor and 20M to produce a wholesome children's television show isn't that bad. Sesame, Mr. Roger's, PBS programing has had proven measurable effect on positive development of children stateside - not just social skills but reading, writing and math.

Today's Iraqi children are tomorrow's Iraqi businessmen and I want them smart not stupid as well as pro-American.

It's a very neo-con approach to colonialism and I'm for it.

@Cougar Bait no doubt so much wasteful spending but I think the 50B USAID budget still is only a drop in the bucket compared with US total budget. It's a start and maybe plenty other wasteful agencies funding must be cut or entirely dismantled?

I just look at it that indeed some foreign countries need this financial support badly but if it's taking priority over NC residents still living in tents and CA residents homeless then it needs to be stopped. Give it to FEMA first.

US should be helping countries around the world developing themselves economically but are those countries doing enough on their end?
