He's always been unpopular with Canada's right-leaning voters, partly because of his upper-class, liberal arts background (he used to be a drama teacher.) I think the outright hate started with the carbon tax/fight against climate change, then it only got worse as he aggressively ramped up immigration from India, specifically to fill low-skill jobs. The steady decline of the Canadian dollar is also attributed to him because of his COVID spending and unwillingness to curb the federal govt's deficit throughout his 9-year term. I don't know how much of this hate is justified, nor do I know how much he contributed to the currency's decline. Very little, I suspect. Currency fluctuation is a very macro thing that has tons of factors behind it. I'm not knowledgeable enough to have a clear opinion about it, nor are the ruhtards that wave F*CK TRUDEAU flags around.

His own party started turning on him as his approval % started cratering.

But really, Canadians just want a change, as they always do when one PM hangs on to power for too long. I think we should probably copy the US and impose term limits.

I was listening to his speech on the XM channel Canada Talks yesterday. One of the hot talking points is the US just taking Canada - is this actually a thing that Canadians think will happen?

One of my drinking buddies(hates Trump) is petrified that Trump is gonna just come and take what he wants,he’s actually prepping for what he thinks is the inevitable.Personally,I highly doubt the rest of the world would allow Trump to annex Canada,but we live in crazy times now so you never know.
