So after searching around I believe I have found the video Trump was talking about.

A) The woman isn't from Springfield but she is from Ohio
B) She did eat a cat
C) She's not Haitian

Trump did exactly what we expected from Harris. Gave the other side the soundbite of the night.

Apparently there's a 911 call about Haitians picking up ducks and geese in the park in Springfield, OH and eating them. I couldn't find that, but I did find this video which of all the things I've seen was the best evidence that what's going on in Springfield is massively fucked up.

Little bit of a distortion on that quip about abortion after they are born. Because it has to be recorded as an abortion when it happens. And it does happen. But that's the double edged sword of sending it back to the states I guess.

Prior to the Dobbs decision, abortion was typically limited to the 24th week unless the health of the mother was at risk. Now that the limits imposed by Roe v Wade have been removed eight states allow abortion without ANY limits including Alaska, Colorado, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Vermont, and the District of Columbia.

In these states women can receive abortions even after birth. Euthanasia is not legal in the United States so if a baby is born with a debilitating condition a doctor can perform a so-called post-birth abortion - for statistical purposes it is classified as an abortion. This is what former Virginia Governor Ralph Northam (a pediatric neurologist) was talking about on a local radio show and what Trump was specifically referring to.

In states where abortions are not permitted beyond viability AND a baby is born with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions a doctor like Northam would give it neonatal palliative care which basically consists of higher and higher doses of pain medications until the baby passes away.

ABC News was just factually wrong on this one.

But isn't it troubling that Trump takes this and distorts it into "these people think abortions after birth are fine"? At one point he said Walz says they are "okay with me".

He was clearly suggesting that healthy babies are put aside and the mother can then choose to abort (murder) them. Meaning he either believes this (which seems likely, he seems to get a lot of his news/facts from internet memes, propoganda, and distorted bullshit) OR he knows it's bullshit and is peddling it anyway. Sucks either way.
