I'm a Christian, and I have no problem including evolution in my worldview. God is not some wizard who waved a magic wand. He's an artist who used incredibly simple rules(strong force, weak force, electromagnetism and gravity) to create incredibly complex things. He's a master storyteller. Science tells us the when, how, and what. The Bible tells us the Who and the why.

This.

Cami and DUnit can confirm.

A lot of Christians are sneaking onto the evolution bandwagon and acting like, what? It toadally fits with all our other stuff. We never said anything else. God creating stuff with magic? Why that's just silly.

Very much like the departure from the geocentric universe model. It's like, yeah, we know the universe doesn't revolve around the earth. Of course. We were just kidding with all those people we tortured and killed over that.

:muddy:

There is one fair point being made by the Jesus nuts, and it is that the origins of life are still nothing more than a series of incomplete hypotheses. But that is the case with pretty much all science.

Not how the world is, but that it is, is the mystery.
― Ludwig Wittgenstein

Now if you want to dismiss all science as being mere speculation, a posture that the modern Jesus nut often find himself stuck in, I ask that you return your car, your household appliances and any other technical gizmo that is more complex than a hammer. God is recalling them all on the basis of uncertainty.

Also, your corrective laser surgery didn't really work. You're seeing all blurry now.

You stupid prick.

I remember reading about a toothache that seemingly never ended. :dunno: Like the 20th century pragmatism(?)

Strangely I was debating this point the other week. The idea as to why there would be anything ever in the 1st place.
Some people, (we wont mention any names) think that its more likely there would be somethingness
I don't see it.
