This could well be the bestest GIF ever.

While I was walking my dog (this is when I do a lot of pointless thinking), I imagined setting up a separate website to undermine their baseball sportsbook, which offers 20 cent lines - I'd offer something like 10 or 15 cent lines that are pinny clones. Upon making a bet, a player would receive a confirmation code at my website that they would then post in a thread (as well as fronting up the points) in order to confirm that people are placing bets under the correct alias.

I'm sure with that crowd, you could easily clean up.

Or better yet, instead of confirming in a post, just PM people a confirmation code specific to their account when they signed up. They would just use that code to make bets.

All you'd need would be to have people transfer points in a post - if they wanted to shut you down, I guess they could close down the post and transfer points back after the fact, but that seems like a huge headache on their part.

SBR_John manually ungave points I gave to posts that were justly criticizing SBR. I did that a lot - and he undid it all over a couple of weeks.

My point is, John is that bored and petty.

I was thinking it seems like a huge headache on your part. You say with that crowd you could clean up. I think we have very different ideas of what cleaning up means. Like how much did Mexican Stallion ever make at his peak? My impression was, for the time and effort he put in, he could have made much better money working at your average coffee shop.

The upside would be that this system could be automated to a much higher degree. However, everything could (and would?) get shut down by SBR.

I would think you could set something up (very crude) with about a week's worth of elbow grease.

Even if SBR allowed it, a lot would depend on how often the average poster over there bets their points. If it was high, would you like to "manage" a sportsbook with a population comprised of these people?
