there should be ALOT of money coming off the books in the next year and the year after that for the cubbies, so they have no excuse to not avoid arbitration with him in a few years and get a long term deal.

yeah...wow. I can't come up with any really really good position players that came from the cubs system.

Soto would be the guy that you could say the jury is still out on....

they've had guys with some talent, but they never seem to really pan out completely. Like Corey Patterson, jake fox, matt murton and Felix Pie. They've had over achievers like ryan theriot and sam fuld.
