I think contrast plays a big part here. They get maybe 5 wins and he will look great compared to fat idiot. I think he gets the start next year after finishing with a winning record under his wing (not overall, just under his wing) this year. A lot of guys playing for their jobs. They will get handled by the Giants, not that badly though - they will come out fighting for him.

Wade was a big softie, that shit don't fly in Dallas. Garrett is not.

I think the Jas Garrett train has left the station. Anything less than him winning 6 games and he does not get the head coaching job for next year. That offense has looked so bad for the first 8 games of the season, it wouldn't be possible for Jerry Jones to bring him back if that team looks anything less than STELLAR going forward. The Cowboy fan base would have a fit they bring him back after the 'Boys go 4-4 over their last 8. I know it is probably unreasonable given the situation that Garrett is being thrown in but he contributed to it just as much as Wade Phillips did.

Now, as it comes to the game this week.....14 points is a hell of a lot and it looks like some places are up to 14.5. I don't bet NFL very much (or at all really anymore) but to me if I were to play that game...I would have to take the Cowboys.

Jason has had the play calling duties all along. While the plays themselves haven't been the biggest problems there was some questionable play calling even before Romo was injured. There is still a performance problem in Dallas and Garrett won't be on the feild playing.

Regardless of on the feild issues the biggest problem will continue to be with the owner himself. Jerry Jones and his constant meddling will always create problems. It in all liklihood prevent a REAL coach, i.e. Bill Cowher from ever being the coach of the Dallas Cowboys.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if the team has one of these phantom bounces you often see with a new coach and starts playing better and winning some games. They are not as bad as their record.

Now whether that translates to a full-time job for Garret next year is doubtful. It would have to be a HUGE bounce. I'll say no.

I disagree that Jerry Jones is a major speedbump for Dallas. Or let me put it this way: he is a major problem in the same way George Steinbrenner was a major problem. There are issues but plenty of people still want to go there for a variety of reasons.

No chance that Bill Cowher will be the coach or Jon Gruden for that matter. Cowher and Gruden have both made it clear that they want complete player control if they are to be a coach of a team again. Jerry Jones will be unwilling to let go of that power and has shown that time and time again.

Someone that I think has a very good shot of being the Cowboys coach....someone like Mangini. I think that Holmgram wants him gone and no matter what he does this year, he is going to lose his job.
