Anybody ever hear of Roky Erickson:

The first one is one of the most perfect love songs I've ever heard and the second one is just a bad ass tune that I can't get enough of.

I learned a lot about Erickson about a month or so ago when I first discovered him. He was in one the first true psychadelic bands in the 60's. This was their big hit, it may sound familiar:

He spent decades in and out of mental institutions, and during one of his obviously bad periods this one was filmed. He's clearly bat shit crazy here, but jeezus the talent just pours out of him, riding in the back of car:
