Live from the delivery room. No baby yet, but madeley is dping great and emily should be born soon. Thank god for epidurals.

Easier said than done. Very tough end to the delivery, she wouldn't come out. Had 3 doctors pushing on madeleyne's chest and another using forcepts and scissors and still wouldn't come out.

Hang in there Durito. I'll never ever forget the birth of my youngest boy. He came out and wasn't breathing on his own and the fine folks at teh hospital had to "bag" him for what seemed like forever. After about 1 - 2 minutes of "bagging" (yeah i know sounds crazy) he started breathing on his own and they took him in to NICU. I literally almost had a nervous breakdown.

Then this happened. Thankfully she started up breathing on her own too. She's is still in there, but doing great! Breathing on her own, and she even took off her nose oxygen by herself. Moving and crying a bunch now. Should get to go home by saturday. I'm the only one that got to meet her, really hope that changes first thing in the morning.

congrats,
life as you know it will never be the same ....

and if her head comes out shaped like a conehead, dont worry it will go back to normal in time.

Wish I read that before, I was a bit freaked out for a minute there.

Time for some sleep, got to get up early and figure out how to put the worlds most expensive car seat (somehow cost me 1.5x what it cost to ship it here) in my car :) Thanks for all the kinds words everyone.

Sounds like my wife and I experienced everything you've been through so let me know if you have any questions. When I noticed the tubes I instantly thought she was "bagged" just like my youngest boy who was a forceps delivery. My wife tried to push my oldest boy out for 15 hours, but dr's and we finally decided it was time to cut him out. Sounds disgusting, but it had to be done.

Mini Durito seems predestined to play the piano or the guitar - she's got unusually long fingers. :guitar:

Yeah really eh? I was just taking another look and I wondered at first whose hand that was there. I don't deal with a lot of babies so I don't have much comparative knowledge but I am thinking we are looking at either a musician or a mad strangler.
