Yay!! the U.S. won and now the team can go on to embarass us in the knock out rounds, but I still have questions that need answering before I can concdone my viewing.

1. In the first half the U.S scored a faux goal when the dude who kicked it in was offsides in th egoalie box, and I understand that is the rules even though what the fuck if your offsides that deep, you deserve it. Anyway, if the first statement is true, then the U.S. was again offsides during the goal that did count. The only difference being that the dude offsides was not involved in possession of the ball during the time he was offsides. WFT, is offsides only called if the dude offsides is used in an offensive play, or did the U.S just get a payback call from the ref?

it all has to do when the ball was played...the winning goal had no chance of offsides...shot/keeper/poke by dempsey/finish by donovan

now the 1st offsides is questionable...but so be it

in the case a man is not in play, but offsides, the offsides call will not be called...

So to be clear, you can send a dude offsides and use him as a decoy and still be with in the rules. With that statement, I could send 4 guys out before I kick the ball, and then pass it to a dude who just barely not offsides and be cool right. I'm not a pessimist, just trying to get the rules of the game, and game play styles down here for my knowledge, even though after watching the game today, I know any team from South America will blow the U.S. away in the knockout round, bet on it.

i will consider getting to round of 16 a huge success for the US...everything else is topping so to write

always remember that when dealing with offsides it is the ref's judgement, if it is blatant, it will more than likely be called....
