Yeah I got an alert from LinkedIn the other day about job opportunities.

Hopefully she likes it and does well...if not...gonna have to pound that pavement again.

Indeed and LinkedIn are killing the recruiting industry.

That must be why, while unemployed, I was averaging about 5 recruiter phones per day and about 90% of my job connections and interviews through through reruiters. Oh and all those LinkedIn and indeed (career builder, etc.) job posts posted by recruiters, those must have been lesser than the ones posted by overwhelmed HR people in companies who have other duties than just recruiting.

My sarcastic point is that the industry is not only thriving, it is on the rise. I'm not saying this bc it is my new career, I am saying this bc I have done a ton of research on the subject. Resources like LinkedIn are tools for recruiters, they don't replace recruiters.

You're right though, I am thoroughly jaded. I know this industry all too well.

I'll bet anyone anything that Cali will not be in that position a year from now. It's a hardcore sales job, not a recruiting job.
