OK I too don't know shit about soccer but I thought I had the offsides bullshit down until I read this thread. As I understand it, an offensive player is offsides if he is behind the deepest defending player who is not the goalie WHEN and this is important, at the moment the ball is launched off on an offensive player. If the offensive player is even with the deepest defensive player when the ball is launched from another offensive player, and the pass is completed with the offensive player being behind the defensive player, he hasn't caused an infraction. I have been studying this game and I watch on Telemundo where the coverage and excitment level is much higher than the funeral march going on over on ESPN. Furthermore, they have a Vision 360 thing on telemundo that continually highlights what I have described above. Well at least I think that is what they are doing, I don't understand spanish.
