The editor got a less cluttered facelift. All the options are still there but now they are divided in two groups.

The first group is anything text formatting.

The second group is anything insertion.

The icon order is: Attach an Image, Attach a video file, insert a smiley, insert a Gif, paste an external MP4 video file URL, insert a URL link. More in the group menu.

The auto save drafts feature is a lot smarter now, usually drafts used to save every 60 seconds, now it auto saves 3 seconds after you have stopped typing. Opening the Drafts icon you can manually save a draft or delete a draft in memory. Less likely to accidentally lose an unpublished post.

The preview post button position changed and now the preview happens in place of the editing area instead of at the bottom of the editing area previously. This way the preview is there and no scrolling to the bottom necessary like before where it used to create some wonky scrolling on mobile at times. Press the preview button again to exit the preview mode back to editor mode.

I couldn't find/remember the other update thread, and it's too minor of an update to create a new one

Photos taken on a smartphone, depending on the settings the user has turned on at the time of taking, contain all sorts of meta data, a TON of meta data, like coordinates to the place it was taken and other information that can be used to doxx, a well verse hacker / law enforcement / stalker could get lots out of that data. So today's update is that now all photos uploaded to gl are stripped of this data, sanitized and left with no traceable information. That's all, oh also images are now converted to the .webp format. It saves a lot of storage space without any noticeable quality lost and most every browser and device can display them.

I have set up a script to go through all old photos and sanitized them for our safety. Example image below is sanitized.
