my very first time I arrived in paris, gare du nord train got there like 7 at night, with no maps no reference knowing no one and a duffle bag I started city walking towards the eiffel tower just following its rotating light across the buildings, only stopping in a quick for something to eat. when i got there pretty late there was almost no one, i just stared looking up at the the thing for a couple of minutes like a kid. then i took a taxi to a hotel.

Don't know if I'll be there. Went to book spirit now that paypal has paid me and flights are double. I may just drive to the airport and see what I can get cheap. I already have the time off work. Right now can't find a cheap flight.

i will be unable to attend. very sad about this. to overshare:

my mother and her husband are leaving the country in 2 weeks to go on a LDS (mormon) mission to London. she will be gone for 2 years. she called me yesterday and asked if i was going to go to listen to her speak at church on sunday. i said, well I will be in vegas. the sadness in her voice (oh, she said) just about crushed me.

now, i am now where near a member of the church, but with her leaving for as long as she is, i need to be there.

i am sorry. i love you all and hope all of your dreams come true.
