Ok, they have been making vampire movies forever. From Boris Karloff to Leslie Neilson to that Buffy chick and werewolves from Eddie Munster to Jack Nicholson these movies have been around and done in various ways. They have but only occasionally they have. Now though, it seems like everywhere you look they are on tv shows, movies and even friggin Burger King is marketing with them. When did vampires and werewolves become so popular?

Whats the appeal here? I mean granted, as a guy there is a 3% chance I have fantasized about a Goth looking chick once or twice in my life but thats just because there are few variations most guy havent had at least a 3% chance of fantasizing about. No fantasies about werewolves though. Besides most of these things are being promoted by girls anyways so the characters are mainly guys. So what is the fascination?

Its obviously nothing mystical. I mean if it were unicorns I could understand it. Who doesnt obsess just a little about the strange and mystical majestic nature of unicorns, but vampires and werewolves? If it were fairies I wouldnt be overly into it but I could still understand the appeal and given that Tinker Belle was one sexy lil fairy there is a greater than 3% chance myself and others have fantasized about her. I still cant get behind or grasp vampires and werewolves.

There are bigger waste of television and big screen time than all things vampires and werewolves, like American Idol for starters but at least there you have that really nasty British guy that makes contestants cry.

Is it perhaps, drug related? I could understand it if that were the case. It would explain why I dont understand it as well. I mean we generally associate drug usage with the male population but as we all know the females are doing their fair share of drugs as well. Maybe in these altered states of consciousness girls see something that the rest of us dont. Maybe the raw brutality of morphing from a human into a beast represents something good?

I just dont get it and probably never will. If youre gonna force me to be inundated with vampires and werewolves on my BK Broiler box and cup at least make it Lilly and Grandpa Munster.

You had to be dropping acid, Bread. LOL.

Mebbe. I just know the first half with all that beautiful Northwest forestry scenery...oh wow.

Then somewhere towards the middle or end, I'm not sure, where that white vampire tries to kill himself and the music is climaxing and all this imagery with historic and religious overtones on top of the history of his vampire clan as he's completely letting go...(wasn't it happening in The Vatican City or something like that??) omGGGGG!!!!! That shit was awesome. I was sucked into the tv like Carol Ann.

The significant and subliminal portions of this thread are.

1: Drugs are bad and may cause you to appreciate worthless fads.
2: If Teela does come to Orlando she gets big bonus for wearing a Tinker Belle costume.
3: American Idol blows chunks. Huge nasty vile chunks.
4: Unicorns ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, for the record in case Mr. X reads this.

I clearly realize that the examples I listed can be categorized as significant but not subliminal. The fact I said there were subliminal portions negated my listing them because, well, they're LITERALLY subliminal.

See Steve. This thread failed miserably. I thought it had enormous potential but it failed. It didn't fail because of the subject matter nor did it fail because of how it was presented. It failed simply because people didn't get it. It failed because people saw it as useless material that has no place on a gambling site. It failed because everyone is still measuring themselves with toilet paper roles. It failed for any number of reasons Steve. But ya know what Steve, my thread failing doesn't mean I failed. I'm a winner Steve. I get me even if no-one else does.

I am far less interested in vampires than the world around me appears to be.

I am even less interested than that in werewolves.

I had a long, varied and extreme history of drug abuse but it never led to vampires and werewolves.

Wally, it didn't even fail, you got people responding to it. Some threads fall right through without a single reply.

Now it might never reach its true potential and you probably know why that is Wally. It's just way too damn long Wally. Assholes like me skip over any post that is over 200 words long. Our Mommies failed with us Wally, we'll never amount to anything. But here's what I might've stopped to read:

188 words FTW Wally.
