What a pita...as it should be I guess. 12-13 years ago... $2500 for attorney, $500 fine, 40 hours community service, "alcohol" classes, MADD impact meeing. I had done all of that stuff before I even went to court as my attorney said it would be helpful..plus I wanted to get out of the way. I was picked up for speeding, which I tend to do intoxicated or not. Of course it was 2:15 am so odds were probably good that I had been drinking. I still maintain my driving itself was fine.

Oh and in CO, the DMV takes your license immediately for 90 days before you even go to court. I got lucky...I could have lost it for a year on first offense but reinstated after the 90 days....but I didn't so much as drive my car out of the garage during that time. If you get caught driving under suspension it's automatic year suspension I think...maybe two.

Thats what these fokers do. Sit around trying to come up with ways to get more people caught up in the system.

And for those about to get their panties in a bunch (Reno pay attention you vagina) I've certainly had my share of booze and driven. Not often but it has happened. If I did get a DWI I wouldn't blame it on the "system" I'd blame it on stupidity. You know, personal responsibility, something a socialist has no clue about.
