I want a Bama/LSU rematch on a neutral field for the title game.
not sure how neutral new orleans will be for that game, though it wouldn't be as pro-lsu as if oregon or okie state was the opponent.

what could really mess this up -- and it's very possible -- is lsu beats arkansas, auburn beats 'bama and oklahoma beats oklahoma state. that puts va tech and stanford back in the picture. too bad houston didn't schedule (and beat) someone from the current top 15 or so.

UGA has about a 20% chance of beating LSU in the SECC.
the big question is who will be #2
personally I dont want an all SEC title game.
would rather have LSU agaisnt whomever not named Bama or Arkansas for bankroll growth purposes.

from my hazy recollection in 2007 there was a big stink over a team getting in the BCS title and not winning their conference. It was UGA. LSU jumped them in the final polls b/c UGA didnt win the SEC even though they were #2 or #3 at the time.
Everyone said you had to win your conference to get in but it wasnt a written rule, just a rule the talking heads on ESPN came up with I believe

It's fukked up. Maybe go on an 8 team playoff format is the best way to go. Make 4 bowl games at around Xmas for quarters, then 2 bowl games at New Year's for semis and a final bowl game around the 10th of January for the national winner.

•No more than two teams from any one conference may receive berths in BCS games unless two non-champions from a BCS conference finish as the top two teams in the final BCS standings, in which case they will meet in the National Title Game while their conference champion will play in their conference's BCS bowl game.

•In the current BCS format, four bowl games and the National Championship Game are considered "BCS bowl games."

1.LSU remains undefeated and meets Georgia in the SEC championship game.

1.LSU wins being named the SEC Champion

2.LSU and Alabama finish up regular season being ranked 1 and 2 in the BCS standings

3.The rematch is set for the BCS championship game both teams coming from the SEC

4.SEC now has its two berths in BCS games

5.Both teams are not “non champion” due to LSU winning the SEC

6.Is SEC locked out of the Sugar Bowl?

OR?

5.two non-champions (thanks to Georgia’s win)from a BCS conference finish as the top two teams in the final BCS standings, in which case they will meet in the National Title Game while their conference champion will play in their conference's BCS bowl game which allows Georgia to play in the Sugar Bowl.

yeah, your first scenario would keep another sec team out of the sugar bowl. the only way i understand it possible for a conference to get three bcs bids is for both no. 1 and no. 2 in the final poll to be "conference non-champions." same thing could happen if arkansas wins this week and then loses to georgia in sec title game.
