They would have to drastically change some rules to get me interested. Do away with offside. Implement something akin to icing where a defender can't just aimlessly boots the ball way downfield to break up the action. Suspensions for really gay dives.

Have they clarified things with the time clocks yet? I always found that extremely dumb where there was no clock you could watch to see exactly how much time was left in the game because the referee was doing his own little secret thing about injury time. Maybe they have sorted that out. I don't know.

Yeah the extra time thing is bizarre as well. I mean why can't they just post an updated tally with how much would be added at the end of the game and/or just add it to the game clock. I guess that would be too easy though and we can't have that.

I can't really see them eliminating offsides as "cherrypicking" would run rampant in my opinion.

Definitely agree on Crosby like dives (oh I know that's so 5 years ago ) and the boots down the field making watching all that more painful.

Nice write-up. I've definitely been paying way more attn to these games than ever before. I blame Daft for arranging the World Cup Bash to get me started.

I just know that I would have an absolute blast with these people in the stands. Seems like every other person is sporting some elaborate combination of face paint, outlandish wigs and shades, etc etc. I think most people here that know me realize that dressing up like a fool in public is my favorite pastime. I like those crazy fans.

I agree..... but I have bet more and been more interested in this world cup than any other. yet I was there on the streets when Italy won .....
