Actually, I don't see the American government being any more propagandist than anyone else. They obviously are pro-America but all governments are pro-country.

You are right about the citizens though IMO. The odd thing about America is the way the citizens create avalanches of propaganda of their own free will. It's like there is one massive inferiority complex that the whole population is constantly overcompensating for. It doesn't make sense to me since America actually is a pretty good country with a lot to be proud of. I don't see the need for so much twisting and exaggeration.

But there it is.

No such thing as in their own free will, people are stupid EVERYWHERE, there's a very well oiled machine behind that mentally of Americans. Things aren't by accident Muddy, come on don't be naive.

Think about the healthcare debate and how the US government warns against "socialized" & "socialist" medicine.
They have the some of the best facilities in the world but a large part of the population can't afford treatment.

There are many "pretty good countries with a lot to be proud of" not limited to the USA.

Mudcat, by propaganda I'm also referring to how the US prides itself on helping other nations, mostly after they have gone in and fucked it up.

FW - I've seen cops throw kids to the ground for underage drinking because they didn't put the beer down fast enough.

US has laws against everything, and once you've comitted a felony you're fukked for life down there, good luck getting a job.

The biggest difference in culture between the US and Canada is the level of desperation present in poor areas.

Canada takes far better care of its citizens. Nobody has to live on the streets here.
Nobody will be refused medical care because they can't afford it.

In Spain and Catalonia, they are always talking about how great they are too. The policia kick the shit out of people here. I see homeless people selling shit on the street get arrested daily here.

When you live on the border of a country with a much greater population, and many more media outlets, you will just hear about it a lot more.
