I think a lot of it is that with certain races (associated with different skin tones) there are facial features which are non Caucasian and people are hard wired into liking people similar to them. Inuit, Chinese, African American and Native American people all have different skin tones but, taking color out of the equation, don't look alike.

Opposite reaction for me. I probably thought she was hot when I first saw her but her personality turned me off. I don't like her voice and her personality which screams of having been told way too many times that she's beautiful and adorable and therefore everything that comes out of her mouth is extra precious. (Similar perception to what many people here had of Caligirl perhaps??)

When I don't like a personality, the person actually starts seeming less physically attractive to me.

Shania Twain is a great example of that for me. Except it's not so much about her personality as her appallingly annoying music. When I first saw her I thought she was incredibly hot but as I started to have that awful music mercilessly driven into my brain, I can't stand to look at her.

It just seems ridiculous to me to have a dislike for anyone just because of a facial feature, skin tone or anything else other than what they represent or how they act.

It's true I make my mind up about people and decide to not like them (sometimes prematurely) as well but it's on an individual basis.
