If the Russians are banned why were they skating?

The nation of Russia was banned for having a state sponsored doping program in the last olympics. If individual athletes test clean they can compete as an OAR (Olympic Athlete from Russia). I guess the theory is clean athletes should not be punished for transgressions of thier nation state, I mean some of these kids were probably only 13-14 years old during sochi.

See I feel almost the opposite. I mean, I really like Track and Field but I’m all about the Luge, ski jumps and downhill, snowboarding.

First medals given out, 1 Gold Sweeden, 1 Silver Norway, 1 Bronze Finland. Yep, sounds like a winter olympics medal table right there.

I'm hoping Mongolia gets their first winter Olympic medal of any sort.
