My last trip to Vegas was 1998, long before 911 and I drove from Toronto. Crossed the border between Windsor and Detroit with just my drivers license and the US immigration guy was pretty chill.

Got stopped as soon as I drove into Colorado and the cop checked all the VIN locations on my car then let me go.

Spent 3 weeks in Vegas staying mostly at the Imperial Palace and my total outlay was about $2K USD, did touristy things like visit the Hoover Dam and spent a couple days in Mesquite with my buddy who flew down from Toronto.

Was losing big until the trip to Mesquite, returned to Vegas where I went on a heater and won about $10k playing Pai Gow at the Showboat Hotel way out on the outskirts of town. Most memorable thing about the Showboat was the cocktail waitresses, none of them seemed to be under 70 yrs old, we tipped the old broads well.

No more Vegas for me, it now has zero appeal.

My future trips will be to Europe and Asia. I think I've been to or seen everything I've been interested in in Canada/USA.
