They had a great successful season that fell short by a slim margin. Game 5 was a disaster. I wouldn't really be mad if they ran this whole team back again in '25 (though I hope they'll make some adds).

Feels awful with that blown lead but they were a damn good baseball team and I had more fun watching baseball this year than I have in a long time.

Good season for your team @Boner_18 . Happy you enjoyed baseball this year. Considering how is older guys have become a tad disenfranchised with the sport as of late, it’s good to see this year brought back some of those old school feels.

Now next year when my Sox beat your Soto-less Yankees, you know I’ll be talking smack lol

All good, free agency started this AM and 103 days til spring training. I dont even think Cole is the worst offender, they all looked like dog shit.

Judge, volpe, jazz, wells and rizzo all contributed more or the same to the collapse. Boone failed by "withholding" weaver and frankly Soto and Gleyber had shit defense and base running all year adding to the attitude that their offense could carry them past perfection on fundamental baseball skills.

I don't think Soto is back so it'll be a bit of a shake up. Probably a wild card team.
 
Here’s my ranking of the worst defensive blunders:

#1: Judge dropping the fly ball. The easiest play out of all of them and the play that started the entire goat fuck

#2: Cole not covering first. I’ll preface this by saying Cole pitched TREMENDOUS. I mentioned he was soft a week ago and he jizzed all over my face with that pitching performance. By the time he failed to cover first his brain was probably salad but you gotta know that the batter was gonna get his ass down the line real quick. Was Wells screaming at his to get over there? I don’t know

#3: Volpe muffs the throw to 3B. The runner incorrectly breaks for 3B on a ball hit in front of him and Volpe clangs in into the ground. Arenado probably picks that ball but Jazz isn’t Arenado.

#4 Catcher interference on Wells. Shit happens. Just really bad timing

I feel very strongly that if Judge catches the easy fly the Yankees win.

Respect this list. Agree the catcher interference is a nothing and Jazz is off the hook for not picking Volpes bouncer. He's a clown on the bases and almost cost us one of those runs by taking 2nd on a sac fly.

Just rewatched the whole 5th. Absolutely brutal. Not sure I'd put Cole at #2 the way he came off the mound and the way Rizzo played that ball with Mookie's speed. But won't argue since they're all shit.

Also, i think a gold glover should make a play on Teoscars double. Judge obviously not at that caliber in center.

We weren't likely coming back to win it all but that inning was a disgrace.
