A family member has died after a long illness so I’ll be in the Northeast to help surviving members of the family cope. On the way home I’m going to visit NYC for the first time in 2 years.

I’m mostly looking forward to stopping by the Dakota and Strawberry Fields which I’m surprised I’ve never done.

Sorry to hear Tron, my condolences

You're a good person, what a bummer to have to deal with this time of year for all involved. Hit me up if you're near Mount Kisco and want a beer/whiskey on the porch (Mrs Boner don't let me socialize indoors especially with non-human internet peoples).

Wow, pal, Mount Kisco.

I lived in North Tarrytown for about a year in the mid 80’s. Had close family living in Croton-on-the-Hudson, too.

The plan now is to tend to family things in Connecticut and then take a train (?) from New Haven to Grand Central Station in NYC on the 10th.

Pencil me in for Revolver. It was Harrison‘s breakout album. It also has a lot of the lesser hits, but really laid the groundwork for Magical Mystery Tour and Sgt Pepapers. I love Taxman, Here There and Everywhere (Inspired by God Only Knows), and Tomorrow Never Knows (very cutting edge for 1966)

So prior to my most recent Beatles deep dive, my favorite song was “A Day In The Life”.

2 weeks into my most recent deep dive, it’s still my favorite. It’s the perfect sonic pop song. It’s hard to believe that 2 guys in their 20’s wrote it. I mean, I do believe it but it’s hard to believe. Of course George Martin next leveled it, too.

Still semi-obsessed with I Am The Walrus and it’s chord progression and sonic-ness.

I think of famous bands with access to state of the art studios who had very lazy production (Counting Crows for example) and then I listen to Magical Mystery Tour and Sgt Peppers and I’m like WOW, man.
