This is one decision in a sea of many. Who the corporations hire, what kind of stuff they promote and encourage, whose toes they don't step on etc etc. Nothing's made in a vacuum. I'm sure this one was just another decision designed to decrease whatever risk was perceived vs future viability and profit.

He is a well-respected actor and former Oscar nominee. (He also co-hosted the Oscars in what was widely considered a flop but whatever, you don't get to do that if you're nobody).

But he likes his dopey comedy too - and he is buddies with Seth Rogen and, personal tastes aside, there is no reason to think this movie would be a flop. Just the opposite probably.

I hear they are going to go ahead and show The Interview in a bunch of theatres on Xmas day despite Sony's original wimpish position.

Seems like the state of Texas is leading the "fok you" charge on that as well.

what a thing to rally around. The right to be shown a movie about couple retards running around making fun of a president of a small, poor country. Kinda brings a tear to the eye. Makes ones heart swell with pride in America.
