Could Jaromir Jagr be plotting an NHL return?

According to reports in MLive.com and the Detroit Free Press, the agent for the 39-year-old forward has reached out to five teams to gauge their interest -- the Detroit Red Wings, Pittsburgh Penguins, Washington Capitals, New York Rangers and Montreal Canadiens.

Jagr hasn't played in the NHL since the 2007-08 season, with the Rangers. He's spent the last three seasons playing with Avangard Omsk in the KHL. He had 19 goals and 50 points in 49 games last season.

Jagr played 17 seasons in the NHL, with the Penguins, Capitals and Rangers. A five-time Art Ross Trophy winner, his 646 goals are 12th all-time, and his 1,599 points are ninth. He helped the Penguins win Stanley Cups in 1991 and '92. He also won the 1999 Hart Trophy and played in nine NHL All-Star games.

as a Pittsburgh Fan I don't want him.

unless we can keep kovalev and get marty straka and bobby lang back. AND have Mario unretire for home games

we'll need about 5 enforcers to protect them all

I think a super slow NHL caliber Jagr should sign with the Pens if he accepts to play on the cheap. A lot of teams will overpay for a 3rd - 4th liner, but Jagr could work any PP in the NHL. If any team pays him over $3 million per then they are absolutely foolish. I honestly don't think Jagr (unless he hires serious personal trainer like Gary Roberts) will be able to keep up with all top 2 lines on any NHL team next season. I hope I'm wrong though. Despite his "pouty" ways, Jagr was a real treat to watch.

I am not sure what motivation this guy has left, he was one hell of a talent, but was moody, and would go through phases when you wondered what the hell he was doing. His name wont sell tickets, so not sure how much money he can get. I wouldn't want him on my team, I dont think he has the personality to take a back seat and play a limited role.
