its is an over-used statement these days boner. not sure why...

even if it is literally true.... doesn't that make it dumber to say it?

that's like me saying....

this forum is gamelive, that's what it is....

its true, but dumb to say it.

everyone knows what it is.

what else could it be? that's what I wanna know?

could it be the matrix? could it be that?

somtimes during sex...... I say My dick is my dick..... here it comes, open up. because that is what it is

I hate that stupid cliche with a passion. Not only is it factually incorrect but it's just tripe.

One of those things people say when they're politely trying to find a way to say they think you're an asshole over whatever decision you've made.

Just tell me I'm an asshole. I've been called much worse than that.

Or even worse, people say it when they're trying to uncomfortably explain away the actions of others who may have wronged me in their eyes.

Why not just say you think the person is a ditchdweller and we can talk about something else?

I've had that said to me about career choices, relationship choices, moving countries, etc... And it's never done anything yet made me aggravated.

Top 3 worst cliche ever.

The thrust of the post was after the ellipses, "his heart's in the right place."

It's another expression that "people say when they're politely trying to find a way to say they think you're an asshole over whatever decision you've made."

Also, "he means well."

Next time I wont be so cutesy about it.

Ah...I just got it! Had to re-read it a few times after you explained it and I finally understood.

I was starting to wonder if my vocabulary had been permanently screwed up after living in Australia.

And it WAS cutesy! But I like cutesy. Just might take me awhile to catch on at times, especially at the moment - so maybe send me a cheat sheet first next time! :)
