The Durito 500

Couple of things I find interesting today. Washington is playing at Atlanta and while I like Atlanta I have a very poor record playing them against the Nationals, my timing is always off so I have to pass.

Detroit holds an edge over the Chi-Sox and even though others don't use this method I still do, they are 14-6 against Chicago in their last 20 and of those 14 the average run differential is 4.5.

Run differential is a key factor in the Boston vs. Tampa Bay game as well. The average run differential is greater than the 1.5 so if you like Tampa that is the way to go but if not then Boston ML is the way to go. David Price had a poor showing his last game out against New York and I like his chances to bounce back but Boston is playing beter right now.

Today's Plays:

I knew my Detroit play was in trouble after I posted it I went across the street and there was a thread and everyone was on Detroit in one way or another. I just checked back in and saw where Brock made it a Rubberband Play.

I may have to change my rule about not searching other threads before posting a play.

It's cool Durito. After what I learned today about VegasDave's incredible restraint about not calling out Casper I have something and someone to admire.

I hope Mrs. Durito enjoys her new shoes and to show what a good sport I am I hope she wears them and ONLY them for you for many many happy nights in the future.

thanks wally, but no worries for you, as a gambler your most important quality to me is your word and i pay up always. wish some sportsbooks/bookies would follow that model.

the whole purpose of this exercise was to teach you a few concepts, which I think you picked up somewhat. I must say Im rather impressed at the results though, especially since you made it as hard on yourself as possible with the lines.

I agree with you about word being bond. I try to live by that myself. Well there were a couple creditors back in the day that would disagree but no individuals.

As for the contest though, it's still a good ways from costing you anything. As for the lines and the restrictions I imposed on myself for this, I needed it to be more challenging than it had to be. Kind of like handicapping in golf or bowling, I always take fewer strokes or pins than I'm due.

I should also point out, that of all the contest ive offered before it was always people claiming absurd %s and me betting they cant hit close, like 65% or whatever. Never challenged anyone just on breaking even. Of course you are doing quite a bit better than that.

$1,362 on (472*100 ) bet is almost a 3% roi which is right what i shoot for, in fact id be thrilled if I finished this year anywhere near 3%. The chances of you losing are now are almost nill, you can call it if you want and I will pay up.

You know what just hit me though wal. You are a golfer. Thus this all makes sense. What other sport do people call "fouls" or whatever you want to call them on themselves. Its the ultimate honor and individual sport (did you see rick reilys article this week?) We got to hit the links sometime, you will embarrass me though.

true about the golf honor code

I remember a story a few years back about a guy that called himself out on some score card mistake and it cost him a trip to the PGA championship or some shit

Kudos on your patience in this thread Wal. Its been a fun ride...

Durito Record: 249-220-7 (+$1177)

I started to play this yesterday but it would have been a loser. I am playing it today and hoping it's a winner. On a bit of a slide and need a positive win to right the ship a bit. The way they lost lastnight could have a lingering effect today so it's not a huge confidence play.

Today's Play:

St Louis Cardinals -1.5 (+130)

To win $130.
