Now what is this someone posted?

Is it like those dopes who whore for as many likes as they can get, except in this case they are whoring for replies?

This is not remotely hard. When I first saw it I thought maybe there was something to it - so I started thinking about it - the first, like, 10 bands that crossed my mind had no t in the name.

This is not a thing. What is the purpose of creating then posting that?

I haven't noticed any changes. I have most of my "friends" on mute (with several others teetering at the precipice.) I haven't see comments from them since I did that. No change.

I don't think I know what "following" is. If it's something different than just friending, I have never touched it.

when I said mute originally I meant going to your list of friends, clicking a bar next to their name, unclicking the checkmark that said "show in feed". I don't see that option anymore.
Now I had to actually go to particular friends page and click "unfollow". I think it should work though

If you have an actual button that says mute, clue me in pal

Oh. Maybe I meant unfollow. When I get fed up with someone's shenanigans, I can click the top right of the post and a couple options show up about limiting what I see from them.

One of them says unfollow. I'm not sure that has always been the wording - somewhere along the line I started using the word mute - maybe I made it up - but anyway I guess that's what I would use now.

Unfollow.

friend is 2 way

follow is 1 way

you can follow somebody without them following you

after you unfriend or someone unfriends you you're defaulted to following them unless you manually unfollow them as well

mute is different than unfollow but similar effect

you can mute somebody but keep the 2 way relationship

so if you unfriend somebody, they can still see your shit? And I'm seeing peoples shit that might have unfriended me? that aint right.
if mute is different then how, and how do you mute.
I thought I made up "mute" when referring to the action of unchecking the "show in newsfeed line" :dunno:

yes, depending how strict you have your privacy settings, see that option when you make a post that says Public or Friends Only, most people dont change their default settings of Public or are not careful to whom they posting to, so yeah if you unfriend someone and you have any Public posts they will still 'follow' you and see those posts, the Friends Only posts no

same the other way around, you unfriend somebody you will still see Public posts from that person until you unfollow as well, double action, they try really hard to keep connections among people, their life blood

mute is a feature of you marking posts from someone, you see that little down arrow on top right of each post, there it says option Hide Post, that will hide that post and the algorithm will start learning that you don't want to see "that type of post/posts from that person", do that on enough posts from the same person and the algorithm will completely "mute" that person in your feed, without unfriending and without unfollowing, there's really no mute button

Chicky-poo on facebook - whom I don't know at all - she is the woman of an old friend - they met after he left this area and went somewhere else - which gets back to the theme of me not knowing her at all - but she sent me a friend request at some point - I accepted - what're ya gonna do? - old friend's woman and whatnot.

I swear she has sent me 30 invitations to play Scrubby Dubby Saga in the last 2 months.
