"Awful ball" is a good term for what I do now. We do bump-set-spike, but "spike" is probably a generous label for most of what we're putting out there. Grass is probably my favorite surface in that you can dive without scraping yourself up but you can still get a bit of push off the ground on your jumps. I fully live up to the stereotype of the white guy with no ups so I'm not a very effective hitter on sand. I bet you would have fun playing at the Y (feels good to be out on the court again after years of not playing), although bar volleyball has the added benefit of getting drunk after (or before...I won't judge).

At this point if anyone is actually playing 3 hits and not just slopping it over on one or two I would be quite pleased. I don't care if they're just passing it over. Same on white with no ups BEFORE I got old and bigger. Life happens.

Muddy I hope she adds you back. It validates you as a human.

Steves the AVP is in town next weekend. $15 daily passes. Thinking about going on Saturday. Have no idea who plays anymore...haven't watched pro beach volleyball since 20 years ago when I played and they would be free at Clearwater Beach. Man I liked that dude with silver hair whose name escapes me at this particular moment.

Wanna join me?

Facebook just reminded me that there was a movie called Honey We Shrunk Ourselves. It was suggesting I might want to rate it.

Not sure if I have seen Honey We Shrunk Ourselves. I'm assuming it is a sequel to Honey We Shrunk The Kids. I'm not sure if I saw that either. I think there may even be a third movie in the franchise. Didn't they enlarge the kids at some point? Maybe/maybe not. I could look it up pretty easily but for the time being, I am purposely not.

It all just sounds like so much jaunty good fun.

Earlier this evening I was finally cajoled into following up on a Facebook suggestion. It kept telling me about a page that a couple of my friends joined called (something like) Peel Village - The Real Brampton.

Peel Village is a fairly small, some-might-say quaint, little area within the city of Brampton where we moved when I was 2 and I grew up and my parents still live. In scanning over the posts there was so much really familiar stuff - like one of them actually had my grade 5 class picture - that I said, "Screw it. I'll join."

And I did. And I made a few comments.

And here I am.

What a failure my life has been so far. I really have to do something with the rest of it.

Thanks Facebook.

What's the obsession with constantly updating where you are, what you are doing and who you're with? Do any of your contacts really care that you are at Cracker Barrel having biscuits and gravy with your GamGam?

Now if you are being anally violated by a Sasquatch I might see that as an interesting tid bit worthy of an update.
