Notable thing to me: in the immediate aftermath, the guy walks right into the road without particularly checking if anyone is coming from any direction.

Some people have something like that happen and it's a wake-up call. They smarten up. They might slowly revert to their old stupid ways, but there is an interval.

Was the driver texting too? Pedestrian was being stupid obviously but the driver was kinda out of it with his reaction.
