It works fine for me. I mean, it tells me that the playstation network is down 3 times before I can view something but it still works (and doesn't disrupt when viewing something).

I thought it said it needed to get on the PS3 Network to work.

You need to attempt to sign into the network to access it but not being able to sign in doesn't stop it from working.
