What a great leader Ovechkin is. Make everyone around him better. ah forget it. Good to see Tampa sweep them. Looks good on Ovie and his lack of leadership skills. He should go live with Crosby for the summer and learn how to become a real leader and maybe learn how to make other players around him better.
 
So for you guys that know, does Tampa really have a shot at getting to the Cup and maybe even winning it?

I mean in watching the games so far Tampa looks as good as Vancouver or San Jose in most aspects of the game. They might not be as physical but they handle the puck very well, they are fast and they have pretty good goal tending.

Yes they do. Their top 3 (Lecavalier, St. Louis, and Stamkos) are some of the best in the game. And they have a solid tender between the pipes with Roloson. Badass GM and coach.

Also pluggers like Moore, Downie and Sean Bergenheim are playing very well. Same with their D.

Boston on the other hand are playing very well and you can't count out Thomas at all. The guy is an unorthodox goalie for sure, but he is getting it done. If Kaberle wakes up then Boston will be a tough team to beat.

Time to change that avatar Blitty. I'm glad you are finally seeing what the real deal is with Ovechkin. No question the guy can score and make dirty hits, but the guy is not a natural born leader and has never made anyone around him better players.
 
Weird ot typical Matty??? The Caps need to find themselves a legit captain. Arnott would be a fantastic choice if they can get him signed on the cheap. I believe the Caps have about $8 million in cap space going into next season with 7 UFA's and 2 RFA's with Varlamov being one of the RFA's and Laich being a UFA and will be looking at least for $4 million per.

It is not the players fault. It seems that teams with Ovechkin expect him to win the games himself. And so he goes out and acts like a big shot, because that's what everybody expects. He's was apparently never taught the concept of team play. Whenever I watch he keeps trying that stupid screen shot.
Guys like that need to be taught a certain way. Ovechkin would have developed into an awesome player in the Soviet System.
Yeah, I don't like that they make the young guys captain.
btw, I'm not that impressed with Crosby either. The league is too full of whining brat superstars.

Hang on now Reno.

Ovechkin did grow up playing the Soviet system as did Malkin, Kulemin, Kovalchuk, Datsyuk etc. The problem with Ovechkin is he doesn't know how to use his teammates around him and he thinks it's his responsibility to do it all himself when the team is losing. Ovie gets the puck and he does what you say he does i.e. takes screen shots. He's certainly not a team player that's for sure.

Crosby has been a natural leader since he laced up the blades. I admit he was whiney during his rookie year, but you have to admit his maturity level is way beyond his years. I honestly cannot think of another athlete in all of N.A. professional sports who carries themself better than Crosby. Take another young captain like Toews. Again, his maturity level is very impressive....as is his ability to lead by example is impressive. Maybe some day that littel punk Patrick Kane will learn a thing or 2 from him.

They should get rid of their head coach before his fat head just explodes on the bench...Feed him a few more Big Macs and he will just die of a heart attack. I dunno bout you guys but if my coach was a fat slob of a man, I don't think I would listen to him too much either... Have fun on the Golf course OVIE.


Tampa is winning a lot because they have no less than 15 Canadian's on their team. When you grow up dreaming of winning the Stanley Cup, it makes you play that much harder in the playoff's.. Add some Yzerman and BOOM; Look out Boston: (or Philly, lol)
