3rd party advice is completely useless when it comes to relationship-type issues.

I would be willing to bet that both Teela and Wally have contacted someone in this exact situation, when they knew it was a bad move, a sign of weakness even.

I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

Nobody's brain works correctly when these situations arise. It's just all one more part of the giant snowglobe clusterfuck.

Migrating wildebeests, the lot of us. I'm sure of it.

Serious question, do you ever want to be taken seriously in a relationship?

Calling the guy (any guy or woman for that matter) when they haven't kept up their end of a bargain, shown any signs of regret, or even any concern after a disagreement, argument or "the talk" puts you in a very weak position. There is a saying, "he who cares the least wins" and while I never used to agree with this and as stupid as it is, it's true. If you put yourself at someone else's mercy, if you show signs of submission, if you allow someone else to dictate your future how can that ever truly be happiness?

You need to man up here. You go out, you do your thing and you don't leave messages that re-assure him that he is in control. In fact you don't even bother calling at all. If he does call you can admit to being immature and realizing it, you can apologize for flipping out even but you make him make that call.

I will go back to being an ass now.

I think this is something that comes with age or maybe experience. When I was younger, I would call and wonder what was wrong with ME that the guy didn't call/show up. I would need some kind of reason or justification as to why it happened. Now, I just write him off and move to the next because, honestly, who cares? Life is too short to spend chasing after a guy that isn't interested or only wants to pay attention when it's convenient for him.

You are exactly right about doing this same type stuff. That is why I and probably Teela as well are speaking from experience as most likely anyone here could. Doesn't mean that the advice is easy to take or will be taken but it is still worth passing on.

Key phrase ther is "age", meaning experience. When we were younger, sure, we wanted to know answers no matter how it made us look. Older = less dumb shit in those instances....
